Finnish developer Critical Force has revealed that their mobile free-to-play FPS Critical Ops, predicted to be the next breakthrough game in esports, has hit 15 million downloads and over a half a million daily players.
“The ideological forefather of Critical Ops is the hugely popular computer game Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO),” says the developer in a statement. “It is currently the most popular esports title, and playing requires a fairly expensive gaming PC with accessories. Modifying this type of gameplay to suit mobile platforms isn’t without its complications, but Critical Ops has tackled the issue with great success. Its atmosphere and user experience is perfect for competitive play.”

Soft-launched for iOS and Android platforms last year, the official Critical Ops release is scheduled for later this spring.
