NG13: Celebration Time!


The Nordic Game 2013 conference will celebrate its tenth edition on 22-24 May in Malmö, Sweden. Registration is now open for the most relevant games industry conference in Europe, and we have so much to announce. This is how we celebrate, NG13 style:

Tim Schafer will be here!
We are working hard to create the strongest conference program ever, and we’re immensely proud to present Tim Schafer as the opening keynote speaker. Tim will be backed up by a string of global as well as local heroes, including talks by Richard Lemarchand (Uncharted), Julie Uhrman (CEO of OUYA), Mattias Nygren (LBP Vita) and many more. “The Walking Dead” keynote announced for Nordic Game 2013
The keynote entitled “The Talking Dead: Voicing a Dynamic Narrative” will open the second day of the conference, and it will be presented by Jory Prum, recording and mastering engineer on the critically acclaimed and immensely successful first season of Telltales Games’ “The Walking Dead”.

Jory will be leading a panel consisting of Eric Parsons, writer at Telltale Games, as well as voice actors Dave Fennoy (Lee), and Nicki Rapp (Lily). The panel will be taking the audience through the huge challenge of writing, casting, recording, directing, and ultimately giving voice to an episodic game that “ranges from extreme subtlety to intense action”.

 


Unity CEO as keynote

Unity is everywhere these days, having just announced support for the PS4, Snapdragon mobiles, and a Unity Pro trial period for Oculus Rift.

 

Thus it's a great pleasure to announce Unity CEO David Helgason as keynote speaker for NG13. Topic of David's talk will be "Extreme Success with Mobile: Challenges and Solutions" Check his session description right here.

 

 

 

First speakers announced for Unite Nordic

 

 

Måns Olson, game developer from Mojang, will share the approach taken by the team working on Scrolls, and he's joined by Magnus 'Gordon' Gardebäck from local studio Simogo (Beat Sneak Bandit), as well as Full Control CEO Thomas Lund (Space Hulk). How to write a video game

Susan O'Connor will be attending NG13 with a talk entitled Play It Again, Sam. How can we use stories to connect with digital audiences? The award-winning videogame writer discusses the tricks of the trade.

 

Another addition to the NG13 speaker roster is Barry Meade from Fireproof Studios. Barry will be talking about their BAFTA and IMGA nominated iOS game "The Room". Sweet :-)

 

 

 

4th annual Nordic Game Indie Night

We are pleased to announce the 4th annual Nordic Game Indie Night showcase and summit in collaboration with Copenhagen Game Collective. The purpose of the showcase is to call attention to talented indie developers from around the Nordic region. Last year’s showcase featured a variety of different indies and their awesome games, and over 400 attendees.

Introducing Unite Nordic
It is a pleasure to announce Unite Nordic, 21-22 May, at Slagthuset in Malmö: A two-day event created by Unity, and the perfect way to sharpen those Unity skills and prepare for the future.
